INTRODUCTION

Skedsvold & White, LLC is an AV rated firm formed by its founding members Kevin O. Skedsvold and Craig R. White. The four partners of the firm, Kevin O. Skedsvold, Craig R. White, Brian M. Dossena and Bryce W. Mowbray, III, have over fifty years of combined experience in insurance defense, civil litigation, workers’ compensation litigation and related areas. We are experienced in all areas of general trial practice and appellate litigation including insurance defense litigation, premises liability, motor vehicle liability, commercial/common carrier liability, bad faith litigation, insurance coverage, construction litigation, collections, contracts, insurance defense, arson and fraud, medical malpractice defense, general tort litigation and workers’ compensation defense. In addition, the firm also maintains a trust and estates and corporations practice.

Skedsvold & White, LLC is committed to providing exceptional legal services in a timely, candid and deliberate manner.

TIMELY – We work on your time frame not ours. Your concerns and your deadlines must be our primary concern. If a matter is of concern or is time sensitive to you, then it must be to us.

CANDID – An attorney that will lie for you will also lie to you. We take ethics and candor with the Court just as seriously as we do with you. Our aim is to provide you with the unvarnished truth on a timely basis so that any corrective action can be taken to preserve available defenses, maximize opportunities and posture your case for the best possible resolution.

DELIBERATE – With you as our guide, we plan our work and work our plan. Any action that we take on your behalf, any item that affects your case should be the result of deliberate action and not reaction.

Toward that end, we have instituted various procedures including the implementation of state of the art computer systems and software to maximize our efficiency and to provide maximum value to our clients. We at Skedsvold & White also actively utilize alternative methods of dispute resolution.

CLIENT RELATIONSHIPS

We at Skedsvold & White strive to act in partnership with our clients. We believe that the most successful partnerships are those formed among like-minded individuals and their organizations. We choose our clients carefully and grow our client relationships as we would our good friends and lifelong relationships. Our client communications are always professional, candid and timely. In acting on your behalf, we continuously remind ourselves of our “Take the High Road” philosophy. We pursue the best overall results for our clients, bearing in mind that the client relationship transcends any ephemeral advantage which might be achieved through behavior which later may be proven to be regretted. We pursue our clients’ interests aggressively and effectively while still acting within the bounds of ethics. In addition to receiving an AV rating from Martidale Hubbell, Skedsvold & White, LLC is one of only a handful of Georgia law firms that are members of the Council for Ethical Billing.

At Skedsvold & White, LLC, we go to extraordinary lengths to understand each individual client’s needs and litigation philosophy. We build these relationships by developing efficient, effective and creative legal solutions for each client, minimizing each client’s potential legal exposure, resolving issues and handling matters proactively, efficiently, and productively. Our hallmark is the quality of legal work and our earned reputation as zealous, honest and fair-minded advocates for our clients’ interests.

LITIGATION PHILOSOPHY

Our efforts on your behalf are always aggressive, professional and ethical. Our aggressive efforts are always mindful of your interests and reputation in the community and before State and Federal Courts. Too often, law firms confuse aggressive tactics with intelligent and effective litigation. “Pit Bull” tactics, unchecked by resort to ethical behavior and clients’ interests, do not serve those interests. Instead such tactics are frequently counter-productive and prove to be ineffective. Our actions on your behalf are aggressively purposeful with an eye toward the most effective and efficient means of achieving your goals. We will never forget that our actions reflect on you and will be remembered by litigants and judges alike.

PREPARATION

The attorneys of Skedsvold & White, LLC want to be an integral part of your team. We want to prepare you for claims/lawsuits even before they arise. When a claim/lawsuit does eventually arise, we want you to be fully prepared, strategically advantaged and properly positioned to prevail and achieve your goals in an efficient and effective manner. Skedsvold & White pledges to you our best efforts of diligence, timely and candid communication, excellent judgment and solid professional advice. We pledge to use our best efforts to maximize the strength of your case and to pursue maximum advantage for you in an ethical manner.

In addition, to providing exceptional legal representation to our clients, attorneys at Skedsvold & White, LLC have provided our clients with seminars on various topics of concern to them. Many of these topics are approved for credit by the Georgia Insurance Commissioners office.

Whereas we recognize that not every claim or lawsuit is a winning endeavor, we will identify any potential problems in your case and will timely and candidly address those concerns with you. We work with you to identify problematic cases early in the litigation process in an effort to insure that every relevant issue is properly and timely investigated and so that every piece of favorable evidence is fully developed in a timely and effective manner. We also target our efforts to neutralize problem areas in the case as soon as possible so as to place you in the strongest position legally and ethically possible before trial and/or settlement negotiations begin. If there is a problem with your case, we believe you deserve to know that fact as soon as possible so that appropriate action can be taken at a time most advantageous to you.

COST EFFECTIVENESS

When you entrust your legal matters to Skedsvold & White, our advice is ever mindful of the cost to you. We recognize that we owe to you comprehensive advice including means of achieving the most cost effective resolution possible. We believe that the attorney that fails to advise a client of the most expeditious and cost effective method of resolving the case has served his/her own interests and not those of the client. Your interests must be and will be our primary concern. Similarly, we also believe that diligent and effective efforts on our part to maximize the strength of a case are essential to its eventual resolution either through trial or settlement.

Our dedication to ethical and efficient representation of our clients has resulted in Skedsvold & White, LLC being invited to join a handful of Georgia law firms as a member of the Council for Ethical Billing. We at Skedsvold & White, LLC pledge to provide you with outstanding legal representation in an efficient and ethical manner.
